Jon Lavieri

Here Lies a Poem
that was never written
about the way a girl
with hair so dark
it shone blue in the sun
made you look away
so she could slowly
undress in the arcane silence
of a rented room
while you watched
her shadow slip
across the wall
until her voice
turns into the heat of a mouth
touching your neck
the way the white noise
of traffic pulsing
down the boulevard
touches a dying afternoon
